Relationship between HPMC Viscosity and Temperature

What is the relationship between the viscosity and temperature of HPMC, which should be paid attention to in practical application?

Answer: The viscosity of HPMC is inversely proportional to the temperature, that is, the viscosity increases as the temperature decreases. What we usually say about the viscosity of a product refers to the test result of its 2% aqueous solution at a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

In practical applications, in areas with large temperature differences between summer and winter, it should be noted that it is recommended to use a relatively low viscosity in winter, which is more conducive to construction. Otherwise, the viscosity of cellulose will increase when the temperature is low, and the feel will be heavy when the batch is scraped.

Medium viscosity: 75000-100000 CPS is mainly used for wall putty

Reason: good water retention

High viscosity: 150000-200000cps is mainly used for polystyrene particle insulation mortar rubber powder and vitrified microsphere insulation mortar.

Reasons: high viscosity, mortar is not easy to fall, sag, improved construction.

But generally speaking, the higher the viscosity, the better the water retention, so many dry powder mortar plants take into account the cost and use medium-viscosity cellulose (75000-100000cps) instead of low-viscosity cellulose (20000-40000cps) to reduce the amount of addition .
