Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose Ether HEC Thickener for Paint & Coatings Admixtures

Product Description

Hydroxy Ethyl Cellulose Ether HEC Thickener for Paint Admixtures

HYDROXY ETHYL CELLULOSE [HEC] is made from natural polymer cellulose, a non-ionic water-soluble polymer. It’s effective in thickening, bonding, emulsifying, dispersing, stabilizing, water preserving, forming film and providing protective colloid effect.

Performance

PTMA TECH - HEC is most commonly used in latex paints as a thickener, characterized by the significant thickening effect, excellent color development, film forming and storage stability.HEC has fine compatibility with other material, such as pigment, auxiliaries, fillers and salts, good workability and leveling performance. It is not easy to drip, sag or spatter.

Mixing Process

The method of HEC used in Latex Paint:

Directly add with grinding paint ①Add appropriate purified water into the vat of agitator (Generally, ethylene glycol, wetting agent and film former etc. should be added on this step); ② Stir constantly and slowly, add HEC in the solution uniformly, continue to stir until all particles drenched; ③ Add preservative, alkaline additives (pigment, dispersing agent); ④ Stir until all HEC completely dissolved (solution viscosity increasing significantly), then constituently add other formula materials, grinding till to paint.
